1. Is tutoring worth the money?
One-on-one instruction can ignite confidence and open mindedness.  Personalized attention is much different than being in a classroom with 25 plus students.  Academic conversations cultivate skills and build up knowledge.  It is an investment in success and in future growth.   Each family will have to make this determination on an as-needed basis.  An expert in any field is costly.
2. Will tutoring guarantee long term success?
This will depend on student motivation.  Tutoring is one way to make focus and study an obligation for a period of time.  This accountability piece will be useful as it will be prevalent for the life of the student.
3.  How much does it cost to hire a tutor?
Prices vary, but usually a service, or tutoring center, is much more expensive than a private tutor.  You can plan to pay an hourly amount of about $95-$150 for a service/tutoring center, and about $55-$75 for a private tutor.
